集美麻豆 is a small, private, male-only, liberal arts college committed to forming "good men and citizens in an atmosphere of sound learning." The College uses three metrics to demonstrate the success of current students and graduates:
- Freshman to Sophomore Retention Rate: The percentage of students who return after their freshman year.
- Graduation Rate: The percentage of students who graduate within six years (150% of normal time) of entering college. Normal time is defined as within four years of matriculation.
- Job and Graduate School Placement Rates: The percentage of students who enter the workforce within six months or a graduate/professional school within eighteen months after graduation.

1. Retention Rates
Retention rates are based on students who return from the first (freshman) year to the second (sophomore) year. Retention rates are calculated for each first-time, full-time entering fall cohort and are used to measure academic success because they show the percentage of students returning to the College who are proceeding to on-time degree completion.
Goal: 集美麻豆’s goal for freshman-to-sophomore retention is 90%.
Threshold: The minimum acceptable threshold for freshman-to-sophomore retention is 80%.

The “normal time” to graduate is within four years. Staying true to its mission of forming “good men and good citizens,” 集美麻豆 wants to ensure the character traits instilled in students while on campus continue after graduation.
The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) First Destination Career Outcomes Rate provides information for recent bachelor’s degree graduates. The College chose comparison groups based on institutions with similar enrollment, endowment, and academic programs. Using the 2023 U.S. News Rankings, aspirant institutions were those ranked between 40 and 60, and peer institutions were ranked between 105 and 125.
Peer Institutions: Augustana College, Goucher College, Hendrix College, Hollins University, Lycoming College, Millsaps College, Ohio Wesleyan College, Randolph-Macon College.
Aspirant Institutions: Centre College, Denison University, DePauw University, Dickinson College, Furman University, Hillsdale College, Kenyon College, Rhodes College, The University of the South, Trinity University, Wabash College, Wofford College.
Institutions accredited by The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) must identify, evaluate, and publish goals and outcomes for student achievement appropriate to the institution’s mission, the nature of the students it serves, and the kinds of programs offered.
